Roya & The High Timers is a jazz ensemble based in St. Louis, playing classic jazz from the 1920s and 1930s. Led by recent St. Louis transplant Roya Jamshidpour (vocals) and long time St. Louis resident Dan Conner (drums & washboard), the band aims to realize a period-authentic sound while also providing an experience that is both danceable and sophisticated. Because revitalizing obscure and underplayed jazz music is a goal of the band, Roya & The High Timers set their focus on interpreting the ‘diamond-in-the-rough’ tunes of the jazz age. Freshly founded in 2017, Roya & The High Timers is hot off the press and presents a distinctive vintage sound for all types of listeners.
